Collection Specifics

My Mac Mini is the cheaper, $599 configuration, though some upgrades have been done to it. I got it for $40 and $12 shipping on eBay in September 2020.

Operating System

Mac OS X 10.4.8 was the original operating system this Mac Mini would've shipped with in 2007. When I got it from eBay, OS X Snow Leopard was installed. Since then, I have upgraded it to OS X Lion, the maximum officially supported on this device.

Hardware

Interestingly enough, when I received this Mac Mini, a 120 GB solid-state drive was installed, something that was definitely installed sometime between its original purchase and when I bought it because Apple was not yet selling devices with SSDs in them in 2007.

Additionally, this device originally only had the stock 1 GB of memory, meaning it could only run up to OS X Snow Leopard because OS X Lion requires 2 GB of RAM. I wanted to install Lion, so I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB.
