I have not done any hardware upgrades to this machine yet. Eventually, I intend to upgrade the internal hard drive to a SSD and upgrade the device from 2 to 4GB of RAM.
In early August 2023, I upgraded the 2 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 memory to 4 GB of 800 MHz DDR2. I also upgraded the old internal hard drive with a 256 GB TEAMGROUP solid-state drive.

Lenovo's ThinkCentre line of desktop computers are business-oriented machines. The ThinkCentre M55 came out in September 2006, featuring an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, up to 2 GB of DDR2 memory, and the choice of either Windows XP or Vista.

Collection Specifics

My specific M55 has a Core 2 Duo E6300, 2 GB of memory, and Intel integrated graphics. I bought it for $41 off of eBay on September 17, 2020, and originally used it as a part of my home Windows Server domain network. Eventually, I replaced it with my ThinkCentre M625q in the network and now use this M55 as a personal desktop to experiment with various things.

Operating System

Originally, this computer shipped with Windows XP Professional, though I decided to install Windows Vista Business when I received the device. Eventually, I upgraded it to Windows 7. After I got the M625q, this computer sat dormant for a while until August 5, 2023 when I decided to install Windows Vista Ultimate.

Hardware

In early August 2023, I upgraded the 2 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 memory to 4 GB of 800 MHz DDR2. I also upgraded the old internal hard drive with a 256 GB TEAMGROUP solid-state drive.
