the logo used for microsoft related content since 1987 to 2012, it can be found in various pieces of hardware and software and was designed by in the year 1987. it has a vector modified shape between the os and the s. the logo was dismissed in 2012 with the release of windows 8. the new logo, as of 2012-current was designed by pentagram and daniel viel. great examples of uses of the general 1987-2012 come also in windows 7, vista, xp & earlier. this logo appeared in ads such as the "yes you can" campaign from microsoft for windows xp. the logo can also be found in earlier version of vista, showing the logo and the windows version. the windows 98 Setup Wizard
